This is a thought provoking book, but is so heavily slanted with liberal bias that it renders itself useless as a source of accurate knowledge about US Govt torture. This is the same writer who also delved into the evils of conservatism trying to paint rightest governments in a bad light and completely ignoring left wing governments in their atrocities. These leftist atrocities are documented over decades as being ten times worse on populations. They are ignored by Lightcap. Shame, shame.
After 44 years of federal service with intimate knowledge of information collection, I can honestly say that torture of prisoners was a rare event. But, counter to what Lightcap states, when used to extract specific, vital information, torture does provide valuable results at tactical and strategic levels. I would love a forum of rebuttal with Lightcap, but don't think he could withstand the strain.
So, recommend you buy this book, read it, and then draw your own conclusions as to the type of ungrounded facts that these liberal college "professors" use to indoctrinate our kids.
